hey all! thanks so much for taking the time to put this post together. it was so helpful!

Thank you so so much for taking the time to read this! It means so much to us!

I love this!! Absolutely amazing, job well done everyone

Thank you so much Robin!!! Appreciate your words so much!

These conversations need to be had and I think this is a great starting point and I love that you had multiple points of view and I like the conversational style. Authenticity is such a buzzword these days but transparenency seems like the key to the real deal. I agree with what has been said re styled shoots, and pushing those as reality when they’re far from it … we need more realness and openness in this social media world especially. The pressure for highly curated “perfection” drives my anxiety higher … I’m in Canada and am queer myself and am trying to build an inclusive brand for wedding + portraits. If y’all ever head down this way I’d love to connect!

Hell to the yes!!! Transparency isssss the real deal! That’s what we as humans live for! How else will we ever learn, grow, and create new things from filters? We’d absolutely would love to visit. We love Canada!

In the spirit of authenticity, please stop misappropriating film ala #lookslikefilm. If it wasn’t shot on film or actually look like film, you’re being disingenuous. It doesn’t look like film and you’re misrepresenting the medium for profit.

Yesss! In the spirit!! You are so right. However, I do shoot film, that’s how I started out being the photographer who I am today! And if you look closely at my portfolio you’ll see that some of my work is film. However, I do see on @lookslikefilm instagram has posted photographers who definitely don’t shoot film nor do THEIR works look like film, like at all, lol. So perhaps, maybe, possibly you should re-evaluate the way you like to portray your instagram?? Idk just a thought. 😉
